A second Domitar Ferrum Battle Automaton
Reinforcements for the IVth Legion
I love the Domitar Ferrum Battle Automata; they look every inch the IVth Legion. On the battlefield they aren't fantastic but the Iron Warriors do have their Siege Tyrants; so a weaker unit isn't so bad to field. Everyone says Iron Warriors aren't so difficult to paint, and that is true, but to paint them well means getting the weathering right and that is easier said than done. I am getting better, and used plenty of Nuln Oil and Agrax Earthshade, along with drybrushing rust colours (Rhinox Hide, Doombull Brown) to get the effect I wanted. I learned from the first model, too, and left the shield off to paint separately, which made painting the arm easier as well.
