Reinforcements for the IVth Legion
The IVth Legion are Siege Warfare Specialists and for me that means they should be distinguished by having plenty of artillery and tactical squads that advance under the rain of fire from the back of the board. After all, who cares about casualties when you're an Iron Warrior? The first step to building up the Iron Warriors' artillery has been this project to equip them with three quad mortars, from which I have learned a lot about painting vehicles for the IVth Legion. The iron has to look very weathered, and to achieve that effect I have washed and then drybrushed 3-4 times to build up the dirt and corrosion. I have also sponged on some Abaddon Black mixed with a little Leadbelcher to add to the corrosion, as well as some rust. The effect is what I was looking for and I'm looking forward to translating it to some Basilisks next. I even applied some transfers to the crew. Only another 190 marines to go.....
